Grocery Guide

The following is a general guide to follow when shopping for iguana salad components. Please be sure to read the IgDen Diet page for more in depth information on diet.

Staples - Use at least 2 or 3 greens from this chart each time.
Collard Greens
Dandelion Greens
Arugula

 

Variety - Add at least 2 or 3 of these greens to your staple greens - Vary the greens used periodically
Turnip Tops
Escarole
Endive
Chickory
Mustard Greens
Watercress
Swiss Chard
Mustard Spinach
Cilantro

 

Use Sparingly - These greens are ok in small amounts, but should not be used in large quantities or very often
Kale
Napa
Bok Choy
Beet Greens

 

Veggies - While greens should make up the majority of your diet, adding some veggies to the salad adds variety and nutrients - These should be added to salads in small amounts
Acorn Squash (grated)
Butternut Squash (grated)
Yams (grated)
Parsnips
Green Beans
Peas

 

Fruits - Fruits are a treat and should only be used in small amounts, once or twice a week.
Grapes
Strawberries
Melons (honeydew, cantaloupe, watermelon)
Blueberries
Raspberries
Mango
